Measuring your windows is straightforward if you follow the instructions below.

  • Always use a metal tape and measure at least twice to ensure you have not made a measuring or reading error
  • If the track or pole is too high to easily reach - get help and use a pair of steps
  • Some floors can be uneven so ensure you measure at least two places and use your longest length to ensure your curtains dont hang too short as it is better if the curtains are just on the ground if you wish to have full length curtains.
  • Make sure your pole or track is square. You can always reposition your pole or track once your curtains are made. Our curtains will be made straight to within a few millimetres and the hooks on the tops have some adjustment. Your triple pleat curtains will arrive hooked and and these can be re-positioned. Your pencil pleat curtains will not be hooked as you will have a choice of three hook positions as we use triple pocket rufflette regis tape.
  • Full measuring instructions are provided in the ordering process The instructions have been repeated on this page. If you have any doubts please call us and we will be happy to help.

Curtains

Our suggestions are:

  1. The curtain rail should be positioned at least 15cm above the window and extend 15cm - 20cm either side. To be sure of the best possible fit, take time to measure your window carefully.
  2. If curtains fall below the sill - finish 15cm below the sill.
  3. For floor length curtains finish 2cm longer than the floor length to allow the curtains to sit slightly on
    the floor.
  4. If you have uneven floors - measure the longest length
